Spring Cleaning
What
do you always do when it's spring? Spring cleaning. You
clean every corner of your house, you clean the windows, you open
the windows to let in the fresh spring air.
How about your body? In Oriental Medicine we say that the
Spring time of the year is associated with the Liver.
Our
bodies have been in a relative hibernation period and, along with
the Earth, everything is starting to grow and repair and rejuvenate.
Have you noticed that when it's Spring, you start to get excited,
you start to make fresh plans, it's easier to exercise and, in
general, you're more motivated?
The best way to enhance your ability to renew yourself during Spring
is to do a Spring/Liver cleanse. Do some kind of fast, with
your doctor's guidance. Examples are the Master Cleanse; or a
mono-diet of green foods only; or a "medical food" cleanse; or an
extended mung beans and rice diet; or add lots of beets, carrots and
daikon radishes to your diet. Be sure to ask
