Meditation to Develop Your Intuitive Self

Intuition is when you know or sense something that you can't "logically" explain. It is one of the faculties of an awakened, aware person. Intuition lets you know what to do within any given situation. As Yogi Bhajan says, "When you talk to your soul you are talking to infinity. When you talk to your soul, all knowledge and intuition is yours." One technique to learn to develop your intuition is to start making decisions in 9 seconds or less. When you put your mental processes under that kind of pressure, the higher faculty of intuition "kicks in" and allows the right choice to present itself.

Here's is a meditation to enhance your intuition. It was practiced and taught by a holy man named Rishi Dusht Daman, who said of all the meditations he did, this was the greatest meditation. He lived on the top of a cold and frozen mountain and meditated all day long at the side of a beautiful arctic lake. His meditations were said to be so powerful and pure that God Himself came down to Rishi Dusht Daman to find out who this great, devoted man was. God told him that he needed such a great saint to re-incarnate on the earth to teach the masses about the glory of God, love, and peace within. Rishi Dusht Daman became Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Guru of the Sikhs.

"Sit in a comfortable position, crossed legged with the spine very erect. (If you need to sit in a chair, sit forward so that your feet are on the ground and the spine remains straight.) Make the right hand into a fist with the Jupiter finger (the index finger) extended and pointing straight up. Close your eyes and sit quietly, unmoving in this position for seven minutes (set a timer). Let your breath slow down and self-regulate. When the seven minutes are finished, inhale deeply, hold the breath and stretch your right arm up as high as you can (keeping the fist and the pointed finger). After 15-20 seconds, powerfully exhale, inhale again, hold the breath and stretch every fiber of your body up. Again, after 15-20 seconds exhale powerfully and relax. Relax a couple of minutes and then shake your arms above your head for a few seconds to finish.
