Food, Vitamins, and Herbs to Boost Your Immune System

All your body needs should come from your food. But sometimes the stressors of life, the quality of the food we eat and our sedentary lifestyle negatively impact our immune system.

If want to stay healthier or you're feeling like your going to sick, here is a minimal list of things to do and take that will help support and boost your immune system:

Vitamins and minerals:

A good multiple vitamin and mineral

A, C and D to balance the immune system

B Vitamins to handle the stress

Zinc for the digestive and immune systems.

Herbs to balance the immune system:

Elderberry, Echinacea, Andrographis, Holy Basil (Tulsi), Ginger

Foods:

Water and more water

Lemon juice

Bitters

Bitter foods like radicchio, arugula, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, kale, radishes

Apple cider vinegar

Teas: Green tea, Echinacea tea, Holy Basil and Ginger tea

Ginger and lemon juice

Eat easy to digest, light foods like soups, stews, kitchari (mung beans and rice), congee

Eat lots of lightly steamed and/or raw vegetables

Eat low sugar content fruits like blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, grapes, peaches, pears and plums

Avoid sugar Reduce or avoid dairy, alcohol, red meat (unless it's organic, range-fed)

If you're not vegetarian eat more cold, northern sea fish (anti-inflammatory)
